Engen Boosts Fleet with 30 Lower-Emission Trucks

Engen has expanded its national logistics capacity with the addition of 30 lower-emission trucks, reinforcing its focus on safer, more efficient and environmentally responsible fuel distribution. The investment forms part of the company’s ongoing Own Fleet Lifecycle Management Programme, aimed at improving operational resilience, safety performance and sustainability across its transport network.

The new vehicles, built to Euro V emissions standards, are designed for both short- and long-haul operations. They feature advanced engine management systems, enhanced fuel-efficiency technology and emissions-reduction solutions to deliver cleaner exhaust output and improved reliability.

According to Engen’s operations leadership, the fleet upgrade reflects a disciplined, forward-looking approach to maintaining consistent fuel supply while meeting evolving environmental and operational demands. Continuous fleet renewal, the company notes, is central to strengthening supply chain resilience and delivering dependable service to customers.

A key component of the upgrade is the integration of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems supported by AdBlue, significantly reducing nitrogen oxide emissions while maintaining optimal engine performance. Complementary use of high-performance lubricants further enhances fuel efficiency and extends engine life.

Safety and risk management are also central to the new fleet. Each truck is equipped with advanced driver-assist technologies, including electronic braking, stability control and predictive cruise control. AI-powered Advanced Driver Assistance Systems provide real-time monitoring, enabling features such as collision warnings, lane-keeping support and automatic emergency braking.

In addition, an In-Vehicle Monitoring System offers real-time insights into driver behaviour and vehicle performance, supported by 360-degree camera coverage and fatigue detection capabilities.

The acquisition aligns with Engen’s lifecycle-led fleet strategy, which prioritises predictive maintenance, reduced downtime and lower long-term costs. It also supports broader ESG commitments by cutting emissions, enhancing safety standards and ensuring regulatory compliance—underscoring the role of strategic infrastructure investment in sustainable business performance.
