Scamec LC 065 A
Normet has expanded its underground scaling portfolio with the launch of the Scamec LC 065 A, a compact, purpose-built machine engineered to enhance safety, visibility and productivity in confined mining environments.
Designed for tunnels ranging from 4 x 4 m to 6 x 6 m, the 065 A is built on the same proven carrier platform as other models in the Scamec range, but introduces the most compact boom in the lineup. Its agile design allows for improved manoeuvrability in tight headings, with optional features such as a narrower dozer plate and shorter end module further enhancing flexibility underground.
Safety is central to the machine’s design, addressing one of mining’s most hazardous processes. The enclosed cabin is FOPS and ROPS certified and fitted with a 22 mm multilayer windscreen and protective grill. Optional camera systems improve situational awareness, while dust suppression technology supports visibility and air quality. Additional safety features include an emergency escape function and integrated fire suppression system. A shielded articulated boom directs falling debris away from the operator, reducing exposure to risk.
Operator comfort and efficiency are also prioritised. The ergonomically designed cabin includes an adjustable seat, intuitive controls and a foot pedal for breaker operation, allowing greater precision during scaling. The cabin can be elevated and tilted to improve visibility, particularly for roof work, while access is supported by non-slip steps, handrails and integrated lighting.
An advanced onboard control system provides real-time diagnostics, data logging and process monitoring via a touchscreen interface. With the Scamec LC 065 A, Normet reinforces its focus on safer, smarter and more efficient underground operations.
